I first experienced Peri Peri, or can be spelled Piri Piri, at Nandos Restaurant when they first opened up 7 or so years ago. They sold Peri Peri sauce in bottles. It contains the African Bird’s Eye Chili pepper, which is called Piri Piri. But you can buy it in powder form, and it not only includes the Bird’s eye pepper but also paprika, bay leaf powder, pepper, etc. all in one container. This is the second post I’ve read within minutes about someone lazily drifting at a near by seaside town. I think they were in Devon.

From a positive point of view, you’re disappointment is our reward! I’m intrigued by the thought of Thai Sweetcorn Cakes. They look heavenly. I feel a bit silly but I may never know unless I ask. What is Peri Peri powder?

These are great – put in as much or as little hot stuff as you want, according to your personal taste. Don’t offer any to your friends, keep ‘em all for yourself !!
Why on earth a Thai restaurant with – one assumes – professional chefs cannot produce something as simple and as tasty as this I don’t understand.

Creamed corn is easy to make, you can even do it in the microwave. All you need is a 300g can of sweetcorn drained and 1/2 cup of vegan spread. Mash the corn a little with a potato masher, and mix in with the melted vegan butter, bong it in the microwave for 8 minutes or stir over a low heat on your cooker until it is nice a creamy. You can add salt, pepper, etc. Some people even add soy cream, but I don’t think it goes well with the corn.
